First port of call was the information centre to find out where I could
find a mechanic. Set off with the GPS, (YES Telstra is working) to see
what could be done about the van. The mechanic couldn't understand why
there were two automatic transmission coolers in the first place and
topped the fluid up and said it should be ok as is. OK! If you say
so.And no charge
Next radiator needed looking at, so it was off to a
panel beater, he belted and pulled and pushed and screwed and said
"there you go all fixed, for now" thank you how much, that's ok we are a
little slow today, unreal...thank you so much. Then, but of course I
haven't mentioned this yet.
The knobs for the gas ceased up, so no
knobs, no gas. Can you believe it both of them seized at the same
time...I can. I went to every known gas fitter, fridge mechanic,
bunnings, tradelink, camping store in Broome and nobody could find the
righ fitting for me. Then it was suggested I go to another place as the
guy is a real hoarder as is bound to have what I'm looking for.
He
unfortunatley wasn't there, but this guy was busily working on a van and
I walked over and asked him if he knew anything about gas fittings. He
said he would have a look. MY GOD this really was the luckiest day of my
entire travels. He just loosened the knobs and told me not to turn them
so tight as this will seize them up. WOW! I was once again so grateful
for his knowledge and most of all sparing the time to even look at my
problem.
I am now in Broome taking two days off to recover and catch up on the last week.
The park is nowhere near the beach as the woman said it was and they are charging me $2 a night for each dog...bloody rude.

Time to chill out Maws and enjoy your stay in Broom, I seem to remember having a wonderful holiday there though that was thirty years ago...
