Where I stayed
Elliott Caravan PArk

From Threeways I drove on to Elliott where I stopped for fuel...well that was the intention. The sign said open and I drove in. Put the nozzle into the petrol tank and waited...and waited, nothing. So I walked over to the door and could see the owner behind the counter and he just looked at me and raised his arms and shouted " We are closed, and I'm not starting the pumps up" . Wow! Pleasant greeting...I couldn't possibly make it to the next town and asked what time he opened and he threw his hands up in the air and made a number seven sign with his fingers...walking away my sign was a little different but just as impressevie!
There was a caravan park at the entrance to the town and I made my way back there, but it had closed down. Ok, what next? I drove around the town's back streets seeking somewhere to just pull up for the night and stumbled across some people camped, so I got out and asked where the owner was and they informed me it was the same one as the service station. Well, I'm not going to get any help from him now am I?. So I drove in plugged into the power and settled in for the night. Next morning, bright and early I pulled up at the pumps again and did the same thing as the night before and waited for petrol to start flowing into my thirsty tank. Alas nothing was happening, after a few minutes I walked over to the front door and could see someone inside but nothing was happening outside. I stood there for about 15minutes before an Asian woman walked up to me and asked " you want petrol'? No dear I'm just standing here making your service station look pretty...Of course I want petrol. " Sowee no petrol".
WHAT?! WHY?
"No powa, no petrol no work " she informed me. You have got to be kidding me, is this some sort of joke or what? Having no choice I was obliged to sit it out and wait for the power to be restored to the town...TWO hours later I put as little as possible in the tank to reach the next servo and drove off. Oh! and no I didn't pay the $25 camp fee either.
Miserable, arrogant sod.
