One of the perks to my premium room was getting breakfast delivered (did I mention that my room has a door bell?).  As usual, I moved slowly so I didn't get to check out until close to noon.  That meant I had only a couple hours to hang out with Alex and Myra, but they probably appreciated getting to sleep in a little bit longer.

I made it to Myra's apartment all on my own without getting lost (Jen 4, PT 5).  She had expected me to call her at the bus stop, but her place isn't hard to find... just hard to reach when you're not used to hills.  We decided to walk downtown since it was only a couple miles.  It was quite pleasant to just talk and see more of the area.  I even caught a glimpse of the Space Needle.

Alex met us halfway, and we went to Pike Place Market.  Myra and Alex had never been there either, as Myra just moved to Seattle a week ago and Alex doesn't "know shit about shit" (except for the occasional thing he hears from other people, like how there's a dark tunnel in the middle of downtown you never want to walk through because of the crimes committed there).  I had read about how cool Pike Place was, but in reality, it's just like the flea markets in Taiwan: crowded with vendors yelling at you and stands fulls of interesting and cheap things.  Not that it was bad, but nothing too special.  Alex got a smoothie, and Myra and I found a small Mediterranean place to grab lunch.  I ordered a gyro, and Myra got a vegetarian platter with things we could not pronounce the names of.  Our walking adventure was fun, but I enjoyed catching up with my fellow DDR-Karaoke Club members more
because I could be my geeky self.  We talked about anime, Neil Gaiman,
graphic novels, and gaming conventions (so jealous they're going to
Penny Arcade Expo).  They would fit right in with my group of friends back home. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures with them before parting ways.

Myra showed me the shortcut to the bus stop from the back of her apartment, and it was smooth sailing from there (Jen 6, PT 5 - I get +2 because of the LINK ride).  My flight home was delayed one or two hours because of storms and an issue with the toilets.  Apparently someone on the flight into Seattle went to the bathroom and when he/she tried to open the door, the handle came right off.  The flight attendants must have been tired because they made jokes throughout their recitation of the safety protocol.  Since my bag was moved to a compartment in the back so that it'd fit, I was one of the last people to get off the plane.  I made it alright, and the Texas heat never felt more welcoming (and then it got too hot).
