First off, sorry for the weird numbering in my photos. They are to keep things in order, and to keep me from losing count, I have decided to restart every time I am in a different city. Another thing that might be confusing is that I refer to Seikoh-sensei by his first name because that's how he wants us to address him. (Actually, he just prefers "Seikoh" without any honorific.)
Today was exciting. I went to Sendai to meet the other new ALTs, Amy and Rachelle. My sempai, a.k.a. the 2nd and 3rd year ALTs, Anna and Michael W. came along too. They had a lot of good advice. Because we got to Sendai early, we were able to check out the Tanabata Festival. According to Seikoh-sensei, the Tanabata Festival celebrates the one time two star-crossed lover (literally, as they were on different stars) could meet. Sendai apparently celebrates theirs later than everybody else. The main street was really crowded though, and an hour was not enough when you factor in walking time. I look forward to going to Sendai to get my big city fix. There they have the Japan that I'm more used to. When we got back to Tome, Anna and Michael decided that we should all go out to dinner. We went to Coco's which has an international menu. It was nice to have something a little different.
