Another day, another area to visit.. Back on to Metro and a change of trains/ rail lines and we are at la Defense area..a major business area of Paris.. around the 110 metre "Grande Arche" are some of Paris tallest buildings.. daily worker tally of 180,000 plus has it Europe's biggest purpose built business district. The arche itself was constructed from 1985-89, as a monument to humanity and humanitarian  ideals rather than military victories. The two sides house government offices. The arch completes the line of monuments running through Paris.. 1.The Arc de Triomphe du Carousel ( Tuiluries..near the Louvre) the 2.Oblisk( or Needle at Concorde) 3. the Arc de Triomphe and the 4.the Grande Arche.. so much to learn & marvel at..
Another reason for being here is the annual Christmas markets.. over 350 purpose built little stands/ cabins selling everything from sausages to paella ,smoked meats,  wood carvings to glass ornaments.  The sight of the massive pans of food cooking, the melted cheeses being served, the aroma of hot mulled wine made the lunch decision very difficult..
After helping boost the French economy once again, the evening has us ready to be entertained... The original and still fabulous "Moulin Rouge" show..
A well organised, professional top class event .. the dancers were amazing.. the costumes..some barely there! were creative and flamboyant. A mix of showgirls, male acrobats, jugglers and the cutest miniature ponies made the almost  2 hour show whiz by.. No wonder soo many tourists flock to see the show,. Amazing!
Another fabulous day over and the dreams are of tomorrows Parisian delights...
