Day 1, round 2, of our 3 city tour across the country began this morning in Massena, NY.  With yesterday's forecast calling for a 100% chance of rain we were not surprised this morning to awake to cloudy skies and precipitation falling.  With the rain pouring from above, we headed to our new favorite bowling alley; Pappy's Bowlmor Bowling Alley.  We were greeted by co-owner Bob Small as if we were old friends. Originally opened by George "Pappy" Smith, a retired professional baseball player for the St. Louis Cardinals, the alley is now run by his son, Wally Smith, and Mr. Small.  The bowling alley has been a part of the Massena community since 1940.  With brightly colored bowling balls and chairs it has a cozy feel.  Both models, Amanda and Katie, had shots taken at the alley.  Amanda showed off a cute casual top that glistened in the photos and Katie wore a pencil skirt, cute top, and some stylish accessories.  Not only did Amanda look great, she also showed off her bowling skills (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QYlYEnJFNA).....and yes, she picked up the spare (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJftJMDr1M8)!!!

Our second destination today was Hugh's Barber Shop on the town main street.  Hugh himself was there to meet us at the door.  Opened in 1978, while not very large, there was plenty to see inside the shop.  Hugh, a former Navy serviceman on the submarine force, has the walls of his shop covered from top to bottom with artifacts celebrating this great country of ours and those who have given so much for the freedom we enjoy.  He said that a few of the things in the store were his when the store opened but over 90% of the items have been donated to him over the past 30+ years of business by friends and customers.  Katie had another great skirt on along with an attractive top and high heels, showing them off from one of Hugh's big, comfortable, barber chairs.

Tomorrow is going to be an action packed day as we will need to fit in the remainder of the shots in less time than we would have liked to due to today's poor weather.  Our team is upbeat and ready for the challenge.  The forecast for tomorrow looks good so we are keeping our fingers crossed and hope tomorrow will be a great day.  To follow our journey real time follow us on Twitter @maurices, http://twitter.com/maurices.

I live in Massena. The bowling alley may have been of interest to Maurice's but I personally thnk it is one ugly spot. The photo's shot outdoors on the bridge do nothing for me either and I am an artist so I do have some standards for visuals. There are some beautiful places in the north country but the pictures donot capture them.
