We visited a few villages without a lot of conviction although Ubud was a very nice place: less crowded than Kuta although still touristic with very nice temples and surrounded very quickly with countryside.
We took the car a bit further north to Batur lake/ volcano where the scenery was yet again different. The lava has left arid area but around the lake the slopes are used for chilli plantations. It is very pretty!
Driving was always an expedition in this trip and Batur was the beginning: the roads were not exactly straight there but I think that Marcello had fun driving around!!! and you don't always find exactly what you are looking for...
We visited a temple at the top of the lake where a ceremony was taking place and we walked around this surreal admosphere because it was almost in the clouds, strange music being played with dogs barking in the background... (Take a look at the film!!)
