We went on a free walking tour at midday and walked around to some sweet places in town; the plaza de armas, another little plaza, a random out of the way hipster neighbourhood, a building built by the incas using the same anti seismic techniques used at machu picchu, the chocolate factory, a sushi restaurant and a restaurant that served alpaca so I got to eat that again
After the walking tour, we went to the highest altitude 100% Irish owned Irish pub in the world. Yeah I know what a far fetched claim, but I guess it is true. Afterwards we used the trusty starbucks wifi and I reached a milestone, and finally booked my flight to Canada. I leave from la Paz on the morning of the 5th, get to Bogota a few hours later and have 4 hours to walk around town before I'm on another flight to Toronto. 3 countries in a day, although not a record for me (4), its still pretty impressive.
The afternoon consisted of checking in and then we took a taxi to the christo blanco on the top of a hill with 360 degree views of Cusco and also of some inca ruins called sacsayhuaman. The christo blanco is a statue like the christ the redeemer in rio but way smaller. We arrived just as the sun was setting and right when a lighting storm rolled in over the Andes. Beautiful. We stayed and took photos for about half an hour then went back to town where we went shopping and I got a new jumper for Canada.
Due to the very limited amount of time i have left in Latin America i need to rush my way through activities a bit so we booked a tour to lake Titikaka for after Machu Picchu tomorrow. This consists of another night bus to Puno, then a day tour of the lake followed by a bus to Bolivia. We then went and had dinner and went to bed after packing our stuff for Machu Picchu.
