Today was a bit of a cruisey day (apart from the 7am start to make sure we were at the Greyhound bus station on time).  A 2 hour bus ride to Whistler.  The view was great ... well, would have been if we could keep our eyes open, but we both slept a lot of the way.  Arriving in Whistler we thought it was a lot like Queenstown but nicer, newer, and more laid-back.  Like dogs are welcome in hotels (so long as they are 50 lb or less) for only $35.00 extra.  And when you go out for dinner you take your dog and they sit by your table on the patio!  So cool.  Dogs everywhere and all so well behaved (would put our Stella to shame I'm afraid) - it was almost as if they were drugged they were all so quiet and well-behaved (but I'm sure they're not).  We even saw a husky and a (pet) timber wolf!!

We had lunch then a swim in the pool, soak in the hot tub, then a snooze before heading out for dinner.  Our last minute deal was fantastic - about $120 NZ for a suite: kitchen-dining-lounge, bedroom, bathroom.  That is what you pay for a tiny private bedroom in a hostel where you share a bathroom!  Crazy.  We were on the 4th floor and had a balcony (though unfortunately the mountains were quite covered by cloud).  It was only 3 star but I think the equivalent in NZ would be 4 star.
