This morning we woke up in Spokane, ate breakfast, and packed the car. We're getting good at knowing how to pack the car and where everything fits best. We then started driving to the North Cascades. It was the most interesting drive yet. It started with rolling hills and the sun being out and then changed to mountains with snow on their peaks. It did this multiple times. When we stopped and got gas, the gas was $4.35! The highest we had ever seen and hopefully the highest we will ever see on this trip. We got to the North Cascades just in time to get a backcountry permit before the visitors center closed. We got there with 7 minutes to spare. We then went to out campsite that was deep in the woods, or it least it seemed that way. The campsite was covered with trees and vegetation. Also, there are about two other people camping on our loop. We just about have the entire place to ourselves. It started raining once night fell. We're keeping our fingers crossed that it will let up tomorrow when we hike the backcountry.
Fun fact: People from Washington are known for not having accents. This is true the more I talk to people. Its weird.
