After a very uncomfortable train journey, I arrived in Budapest at about 9am on tuesday. I was exhausted so I slept until about 12, then I explored a little and had some lunch. Hungarian ghoulash soup as an entree and sirloin pasta. Heavy and delicious.

Another nap was had, then at about 6 I headed out to a bar where I had a few drinks. The people here are very friendly and being australian I was interesting to them. I tried to get into a restaurant that was recommended to me but it was full, so I entered one that close by. I was the only person there the whole time I was there, and afterwards I felt sorry for them as I probably had the best food I've ever tasted at this place. Fried battered mushrooms entree and paprika chicken gnocchi. The gnocchi was superb.

Yesterday I walked across the Danube which is very clean. On the other side is Rudas baths, an old turkish spa system. Today was men only (but definitely not gay). So they have 5 different mineral spas all with different temperatures, saunas, sleeping rooms. It was very relaxing and I spent a few hours there.

Afterwards I climbed up the hill to the old citadel which gave great views of Budapest, a really beautiful city. For dinner, I had garlic soup entree and chicken liver and rosti main. All delicious. Later I went to a bar where some guys were playing cards, and I joined in which was actually a lot of fun!

Today I will have some lunch, then make my way to the train station where my next stop is Bratislava, Slovakia.
