After getting through the ridiculous over the top security at Tel Aviv (if someone can help me understand why they do it on the way out, rather then in??) and being interrogated, I finally made it on the plane with 10 minutes to spare. Being back in Berlin, the environment feels so calm and relaxed in comparison. Poor Israel...

I invited Holger along to my tennis welcome party on thursday night which was a lot of fun, and good to see some friends from Sydney there. So I was again pressured by being seeded in my draw, 5 this time, but I went in with a better attitude.

It didn't amount to much though, as in my first match I cramped and got frustrated (but thankfully I have moved past my racquet throwing phase) and lost easily. Doubles, I played much better, and my partner Declan and I formed a good team and did quite well.

My analysis was this. With doubles it is much easier to not play for 3 weeks because you only have to cover half the court. My singles intelligence was quite low in this tournament so I am going to try and find time to practise more. And most importantly; relax.

Yesterday and today have involved mostly relaxing and hanging out with Holger. We had Mexican last night, and I succeeded in speaking only in German to the waitresses.

Now I'm about to board an overnight train to Budapest, Hungary (let's see how many huns I can fit into my next blog). Hopefully i can get to sleep, and i won't go hungry...

All puns aside I can't see you going HUNgry or missing out on sleep. If there's a will there's a way. It wil be interesting to see how many Huns you come up with in your next post.
Hopefuly the Isael interrogation experience will not be repeated (with you) for the rest of your travels. Shame they weren't that diligent with the lunatic who blew up the Israeli tourist bus going to Bulgaria. Keep safe and keep enjoying as much as you can. Mum x
