Our last day in London – time flies when you're having fun, only having seven hours of daylight doesn’t help either. We checked out of our hotel but had them hold our bags and proceeded to a pub opposite the Gloucester Rd tube station for a full English breakfast. Next we bought a 1-2 Zone Day travel card each and jumped the next tube for Monument Station. We walked past the London Tower and Tower Bridge and then back along the Thames towards London Bridge where we doglegged right and caught a tube from Cannon Road Station to Westminster. We were trying to meet up with a mate from Australia but we think his phone ran out of batteries and we couldn’t find him, so we headed back to High St Kensington with the intention of watching a movie to escape the cold and for a comfortable seat. Our plans changed though when we realised the price – eleven pounds! For a pair of students who usually pay the equivalent of three pounds fifty we were not cold enough or uncomfortable enough to fork out that much! We collected our bags from the hotel and caught a tube to Kings Cross and then the train on to Luton. By the time we arrived in Luton it was freezing, literally, luckily we found our Easyhotel easily and ventured across the road for a traditional Luton feed: doner kebabs and chips. As we sat in our plastic chairs in Luton’s King of Kebabs watching the traffic inch by we were glad we weren’t spending a week there. It was funny to watch the owners of the restaurant. They were Turkish and they looked like brothers. They yelled at one another in Turkish but when they spoke in English vay soun-nid jus like norf luniners.

After our filling and very good value meal (cue subliminal message: London’s a rip off) we crossed the road back to our hotel, repacked our bags set our alarms for 4 AM and went sleep.
