Cappadocia is home to fairy chimneys, pillars made by years of erosions, after volcanic events. The people made houses, churches, mosques, monestries in them and it is really quite amazing. Also, the Christians made vast undergrouns cities, such as the one I visited Derinkuyu, which is I think about 8 levels and goes down 55m or so.
The Open Air Museum is also a must see, but when hit with the secondary admission ticket, to see the "dark church" we weren't quite sure if it would be worth it, but surprisingly it was, the frescos of Jesus' life have been restored and it was really nice
We haven't been too adventurous with the food here, we found a little restaurant on our first night, and have eaten there every night since, yummy turkish pizzas and pides at Firrin Express. Matt ran into a couple he met while travelling in Uzbeckistan and they traded travel stories of ex-soviet countries last night.
We are staying in a cute pension. Anatolia where they are looking after us, with a very yummy brekky each morning, though we are in a cave room, not staying in a fairy chimney.
So, we have been holding up here deciding on our next move, and plan to head further east tomorrow.
Hope you are all well.
Bye for now
Nic and Matt
