Long drive to the Redwood National Forest. When we entered California they asked if we had any produce, we said one banana. I knew they were weird about brining fruit into the state, but I still don't get why. When we finally got to the park it was pouring rain and pretty cold, 50 degrees at best. We had lunch by the big tree and walked around a few minutes but it was very muddy and neither of us was equipped with hiking gear so we had to leave. Would have been nice to hike a trail for an hour or two. The redwoods were massive and the forest was endless. It was just awful weather conditions.

We got to Redding and find out our hotel was not even open yet. Luckily people were actually there and they displaced us to a Best Western close by for the same rate. I wonder what would have happened if nobody was there, it was 5 p.m. and the hotel wasn't even opened yet. Some major delays. We would have probably had to stay at a Bates Motel type venue. Luckily at Best Western they gave us a room right near an ice machine that sounded like a teenage girl getting near a twilight star. Nothing much else to do in Redding, relaxed for another big day tomorrow.
