I found out Tuesday afternoon that I was on option for a job on
Thursday and a job on Friday. Well, I did not end up getting the Friday
job, I have just found out. Oh well. But I got the Thursday job. Now, I
knew nothing about the job before showing up today other than where to
show up.
As it turned out, the photographer who hired me was
in the agency a couple weeks back. I met him then after seeing he had
taken one of my comp cards. Apparently, he cast me from that card. Good
times! Well, I met him and the rest of the crew for this shoot, and we
traveled out of town to either Monza or Lissone, I was never sure
which. Regardless, the shoot took place at this modern furniture store
like an IKEA. Great stuff everywhere even though I know little to
nothing about furniture!
So, I am thinking the shoot must be
something for this furniture store. Logical. But completely wrong. As
it turns out, the store sells various Samsung products, and the shoot
is a tryout shoot for Samsung. Now, if you are like me, when I heard
"tryout," my brows kind of crinkled up as if to ask, "Try what?" Well,
apparently, the Samsung people hired the photographer and instructed
him to shoot his idea of what a Samsung campaign would look like. So,
he hired me, a 30-year-old model, and a girl, 16 years old. Yeah,
slight age disparity, I know. But hey, if I am still shooting with
16-year-olds from Brazil, I have to be doing something right!
Anyhow,
the shoot was apparently a tryout for the Samsung campaign. If the
Samsung representatives like the photographs, then they will use them
as the campaign. I will say they were all smiles Thursday. And the
photographer came up to me at one point at the end and said he really
thinks we all got the campaign. That means he thinks Samsung will buy
the photographs as their next campaign. If they do, that means major
mula for Mattie!!!! So, keep that in prayer. If it is to happen, it
will, right? But how great is that? I walk into a shoot like that
completely unsuspecting, and it may turn out even better. But even if
they do not take the photographs for the campaign, I still made money
from it. So I win either way. Now it is just a matter of if I win more!
lol
Anyhow, just thought I would share that about my third job
in Milan. And after this shoot, I did not drink. I learned my lesson.
lol
