Where I stayed
Blue Lagoon resort
The Blue Lagoon resort on Nacula island turned out to be even more picturesque than Bounty Island with the added bonus of having absolutely terrific food. This is definitely a few rungs above backpacker standard. Again we don't do a hell of a lot in the day apart from laze on the beach and snorkel the nearby reef. On the final day we however grab the opportunity to do a shark dive. This is the cherry on top of the icing on top of the cake. We watch four metre bull sharks and three metre lemon sharks cruise past us a matter of metres away. We also see black and white tip reef sharks, nurse sharks and bronze whalers sweep by in a feeding frenzy. The sharks and the other fish seem totally oblivious to the divers. Like on other dives I have completed you feel almost like an invisible voyeur to the sea world. I didn’t feel nervous or scared whilst down there, only totally fascinated. I know Sarah had a similar experience.
