JingHong is in Xishungbanna region of Yunnan province hence the title of this episode of the blog. It's a pretty cool place - most probably the best place I have been in China. Like Ruili it's more tropical - but there's a nicer feel to the place. It seems cleaner and the people seem friendlier.

We do a couple of treks through the countryside in Aini minority people country. We see banana trees, pineapple plants, fig, mango, passionfruit trees and get some great views from high up a tea plantation mountain.

In the evening Jinghong comes to life. We have bbq fish overlooking the Mekong river the first night we're there. As we walk back to the hostel people are dancing, bands are playing, other people are playing different games on the streets. It's quite surreal but pretty cool!
