Where I stayed
Back to Dali for a couple of days. On the 29th we cycle with Qiaoping to Erhai lake. The lake is huge so we only see bits of it. There is no direct path along the lake so we go in-land for parts. Some of the time we cycle through Bai minority villages, weaving through the small streets avoiding skooters, small children and farmers carrying baskets. Other times we cycle through open farm land with all sorts of veg growing, the farmers working the fields. The surroundings are great. You have the Cangshan mountains one side, Erhai lake the other and stretches of arable farm land behind and in front, and it's a corker of a day. We stop for a drink at the Dragonfly inn another great little hostel in Dali.
The next day, the 30th, we have a go at Chinese cooking. This is part of the Chinese tour we booked, which me nor Sarah were particullary bothered with but it turned out we really enjoyed it. It was very chilled and we'd been quite busy so far so it was nice to take things slowly and relax. In the evening we gear up for the overnight bus to Ruili
