Later we experienced some rain and went to shopping malls.
We also went to see some very nice old buildings and a 17xx palace in the city center.
By the way Brazilians really really dont speak English so learning Portuguese ractically saved us many times and enabled us to speak freely with the locals and learn about thelivesfes.
We were supposed to have a flight to sao paulo and another one from there to ilheus. the airline sent us from one airport to the other by taxi because the first had runway which is not always usable in rainy days because of its smaller length. in the other airport they had 53 delayed flights and we waited for another 2 and a half hours. we missed our connection flight and stayed in a hotel in sao paulo at the expense of the airline and went to some local mall. the day after when we at last flew to ilheus the pilot performed 2 landing attempts and canceled them both due to strong winds around the airport. so we flew another 20 minutes in order to land in salvador. from salvador a lot of the plane's passengers were sent by taxis to their final destination. the taxis drove in a long row and had a lot of long stops. it took maybe 7 hours so we arrived to itacare at 01:00 and barely found a room.
brazilian airlines are very safe and it was a common normal procedure so there is no need to worry...
now everything OK ok and itacare is amazing. will update soon.
