We flew into the Czech Republic today a little apprehensive.  We were going from France where we knew enough of the language to get by comfortably into a country only 20 years out of Communism where the English language may be a challenge.  Fortunately, when we arrived we had read enough of Rick Steve's travel book to understand exactly how to get from the airport to our hotel without concern.  We were pleasantly surprised at how easy the Prague subway was to navigate and agreed we found it to be the easiest subway in our European experiences to navigate.

Prague is divided into the Old Town, New Town, Jewish Quarter, Little Quarter and Castle Quarter.  To help keep Ed off his leg as much as possible we took a city tram ride out to the Monastery and Abby in the Castle Quarter at the top of the hill and walked down into the city.

See check out some of our pictures!
Jan Hus Memorial - Jan was an important figure in Czech history.  He rebelled against the Catholic church over 100 years before Martin Luther did and he was key to the Czechs earning their freedom.  However, unlike Luther, Hus was burned at the stake in 1415.
Tyn Church - The head church of the Hussites (followers of Jan Hus) for over 200 years following his death.
Prague Pharmacy - Everywhere we go Ed needs to check out the pharmacy...how are they structured, what is on their shelves, how do they distribute, etc.
Prague Castle Palace - The Czech rulers have ruled from this palace for over 1000 years.
St Vitus Cathedral - The spirit of the Czech people, contains the relics of important Czech saints and kings including the first three Hapsburg kings.

Prague was beautiful and we hope to visit here again.  We would encourage everyone to try the Czech capital.  Our only disappointment was that we were there for only 24 hours.
