This weekend, 33 of the international students (including myself) went to Southern Sweden to stay in Stockholm for a few days. We took the long bus ride down and slept on a boat that has been converted into a hostel. The hostel was right across the bridge from Gamla Stan which is the historic district or "Old Town" of Stockholm. I was able to see the Royal Palace and the Absolut Icebar, I got almost all of my Chirstmas shopping done, and I learned a thing or two about the creation of the Nobel Peace Prize at the Nobel Museum! Did you know that the Nobel Peace Prize started in Sweden? I also treated myself to some true authentic Pizza Hut pizza...you don't want to know how expensive it was...trust me! Other then that, it was really nice to spend time in Stockholm. The people there are much friendlier and outgoing than those in Sundsvall...probably because it's more of a tourist town with a lot more influence from other nationalities!
