We woke up about 6.30 – had brekkie/showered/got ready and out of the apartment at just after 8.00. The streets were deserted …very quiet walk to the Vatican. Started off very cool as well and I thought I may not be covered up enough…didn't even bring a scarf.

Once we got there things started heating up a bit with the amount of people and with the temperature. Again we picked some really good seats at the back of the front section since on Palm Sunday they had a very close view of the Pope from these seats. We sat down and patiently waited the two and a bit hours we would have to wait.

The Easter Sunday Service was fantastic…it didn’t seem that they could have got anyone else into the square …the atmosphere was superb. With the Swiss Guards and the Cardinals, priests etc etc all the ceremony that goes with it…fantastic… (but the Popemobile didn’t go pass us…oh well…still really good photos.)

After Mass we walked to the restaurant we had been to for a coffee a few days ago to have a meal there… quite expensive it turned out to be but very nice and very relaxing. We had a fun time looking and all the people at the restaurant and what they (and we) were doing. In particular a women with some serious 'botox’ happening and another that brought her little dog with her to the restaurant…very funny!!!

We left for a quite walk up the river towards the Colosseum and went to the little island on the Tiber to see if they had any restaurants there for our last night (they didnt) we stopped at another  few places along the way….we walked through the ‘Jewish’ quarter and through the back streets of old Rome through to Campi del Fiori.

Lovely walk again….this is the place for lovely walks…

We then made our way back to start packing and hop onto the Net to make some arrangements. It was at this point ..while going through my details that I realized I had forgotten to fill out a certain form (Permission to Stay form) i was supposed to have filled it out within 8 days of arriving …. I totally forgot about this. Hopefully it will be OK…but poor Mary is beside herself with worry…

Tonight is our last night in Rome….

We ate at a beautiful restaurant off Piazza Navona - very nice trying the Roman delicacy of artichokes and spinach….mmmmmm!!! After which we had an icecream (3 flavours)…..we then walked back to our apartment. The piazzas and the campi are all buzzing every night …young beautiful people enjoying life and each other … that’s what it’s all about!!!

No form - no worries! Smile nicely and hand over a fifty.
