Oh! Don't pinch my seat!

Where I stayed
Harlaxton Manor
I woke up this morning still feeling the jet lag from three days ago when I arrived to this beautiful castle. As my alarm went off I grudgingly reached my hand up and hit it on the top of the head. Ten minutes later, I found myself in a panic jumping up out of bed to get ready for my first day of classes. Breakfast wasn't going to be an option on this day, and from then on out I knew it might be a bit of a struggle. As my roommates and I met up with a few of our friends in the hallway, we scurried down the stairs to the Long Gallery to sit in an hour lecture given by Dr. Bujak, the vice principal of our school. Just as I was about to save a seat next to me for one of the other slackers who woke up late, (my friend B) Dr. Greene, who some people have said remind them of Professor Snape from Harry Potter looked at me and said, "Oh! Don't pinch my seat love!" (which in British means, Don't steal my seat....love.) Mystified or intimidated, I still haven't decided which, I pulled my bag away from the seat and slowly sat down in mine. For the rest of the lecture I was then fidgeting around wondering if I should take notes while I try and keep up with everything Dr. Bujak was saying. With Dr. Greene by my side, I felt the need to be studious (not that I'm not, of course!) So I wrote a few things down on my notebook paper, one of them being "remember to sit in back of hall next lecture" with the word back underlined at least 3 times.

Hello!
Hi Mary -
Love the photos and your stories! has anyone called you 'duckie' yet? That is an expression like 'sweetie' or 'dearie' that older ladies and gents sometimes use.
Another expression for stealing something (as in shoplifting or what happened to your friend's camera in London) is to 'nick' something.
It is fun to remember all of this. Thanks for doing a great job on your first blog!
