A lovely day today, we went on an organised trip. We drove north for about 45 minutes to visit a whisky village. The whisky is called Lao Lao. Then elephant riding for about an hour, which was great. We rode through the forest and the elephants were eating from the trees as we went along.

We then took a boat trip across the Mekong river to visit the Pak Ou Cave, that was a little disappointing but fabulous scenery.

After lunch we headed south through Luang Prabang to visit the Kuang SI Waterfall.

The drive was certainly eventful, I had just commented to Rene that I thought our driver was driving dangerously, overtaking on bends!

He was just about to overtake on another bend when a lorry came round the corner, he pulled over to avoid the lorry and hit a scooter with two people on it, which ended up in a ditch.

The awful thing was he didn't even go back to see if they were okay, he stopped 100 metres down the road, looked in his mirror and then drove off!

The waterfalls were fabulous, and we also saw some bears.

Off to Chiang Mai tomorrow. See pics.
