Alright, this entry is 20 days late. Pardon me for the lack of urgency. Truth is, I wasn't so psyched to blog about this trip. One distinct reason is because just as I touched down, it felt like I was in my second home - Kuala Lumpur. The feeling stayed with me throughout my 5-days stay and I didn't feel any different except for the stint with the world-famous sex tourism industry (we'll get to that part as we go along). Other than that, the bird's eye chili burnt my throat all the same. ;)

My three amigos flew by Singapore Airlines's baby budget brother, Scoot. Two of them, Nabil and Afrizal, were the initial flyers, and Hafiz just tagged along in the last minute. I, too, tagged along in the last minute but I can't recall why and how I did not get a seat on Scoot. Instead, I stayed loyal with Tigerrrr and it only cost me S$75 one way (purchased 3 weeks before departure). And then I found out that Hafiz paid almost the same amount one way and then I felt so stupid. -_-" (I had to endure Nabil's blithering remarks about how goooood the flight was, how roomy it was, and how it was such a paragon of all LCCs. >;(

As I flew separately, which was 100% intentional because I wanted to be alone, I had like a 2 hour gap before the muchachos come and save me. Have I told you about my habit when it comes to travelling with others? Yes, I get too dependent and lazy, and I didn't do any research at all. I didn't even know where we were staying until Nabil had to SMS me the address 15-min before take off. So off I went finding my way to Nasa Vegas Hotel. It wasn't so hard at all. The hard part was to wait for them at the lobby for more than 2 hours!!! No forgiveness for making people wait, Nabil. None. But it wasn't their fault. The immigration had a sudden influx. Who knew, even the airports have peak rush hour.

The first evening was spent at Kao San Road. I'm a Lonely Planet avid reader so I know all the backpackers haven in SouthEast Asia (heh... don't that "bragging rights" sound good? ~_^) So when I told Nabil about this Petaling St. more notorious Thai brother I was shocked he didn't know anything about it. :/ So anyways, there wasn't anything special about this road. It's just doesn't feel Thai and I wasn't so happy because I was super hungry and super cranky. These guys kept walking and looking for the perfect Ray Ban. Finally I knew they weren't going to sit and eat so I grabbed myself the famous banan nutella pancake, followed by a delicious Halal shawarma (which was followed by Nabil's insensitive question: "You gonna eat that?" He always does that patronizing Personal Trainer on me. I'm immuned. Seriously.)

The only highlight was... I got myself a black henna tattoo at the nape. C'est sexy. And that boy got his name in Arabic across the back of his lower arm. No comments.
