This was the first HUB that I was actually looking forward to, since it meant I didn't have to teach in Kocherinovo. Thursday was also the best day of HUB sessions we've had so far. The highlight was meeting the press secretary from the US Embassy. He talked knowledgeably about his job and the challenges facing the embassy in Bulgaria, but the coolest thing about him is that he created the idea for the old Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego computer game. How cool is that? He got royalties from Apple and everything. After our meetings I took a nap, and when I woke up there was some kind of festival going on in the main square. It had something to do with Bulgarian Freedom (that's all I could make out from the banner,) and there were different folk groups from all over the Balkans. I took some nice photos and video clips. I also have a couple pictures from later that night drinking with the other B19s.
