A long days travel today, eventually catching 2 car ferries to Cat Ba island in Halong Bay. This island looks prehistoric, out of Jurasic Park. Big peaks of  rain forest cover, stretching off into the interior. The Cat Ba township could have been a mediterrainian resort, surprisingly high rise hotels everywhere, and full of teenage school children, going crazy like schoolies week. Just spent 1 night here, next morning drove to the national park, where we did a 6k walk through the forest and saw more peaks and lots of butterflies, and 2 squirrels.
Then off to another jettty where our beautiful wooden junk awaited us to take us for 1 night and 2 days aruond Halong Bay.
