After a wonderful night spent in a long house in a little village nestled in the village of Mai Chau, we travelled on to Tam Coc where there are limestone casts coming out of the rice fields. Got into a little tin boat rowed by an old man ( wife joined us alog the way and paddled too ). Along the lazy river thru towering cliffs and thru caves for about 2 hours. On the way back the woman opened a huge tin chest and produced hundreds of embroided table cloths and decorated linen ware. Of course she wanted us to buy them and there was no way out stuck on the boat, so I ended up buying something with much barganing. Back in the hotel that night it was spick and span, recently built. Our crowd were the only ones staying the night.
