Away from Susten and on the road to the Simplon pass.  Before this there were even more snowy coated mountains and I found once we were on the Simplon pass and rising higher the temperature was cooler and the view of the large town of Brig from above was astounding.  We stopped for a few minutes at the top and I found that after four days of looking up to the snowy peaks I was in amongst them.  I crossed the road and found large expanses of snow in the process of becoming a stream and felt that it would make a good pic (will show it once we have had a look).
On arrival over the Italian border we made our way in the direction of Milan, turning off for Lake Maggiore and driving along it for several miles to our destination village of Lesa.  By now the sun is again beating down and beers are calling!  We checked in to the site, which appears excellent and went to look for a pitch to spend our next two nights.  There were many suitable spots but the one I really wanted is right at the waters edge, these pitches cost an extra 6 euros per night but it's only money and I look forward to drinking our early morning coffee tomorrow by the lapping edge of Lake Maggiore.
