Up early and did all our washing and pegged it out as the weather is set to be a scorcher We caught a train into Reims as planned and found the journey to be on time and the train clean and comfortable. We strolled through the pedestrian area then visited the cathedral and royal palace which was re-built and is disappointingly uninteresting. Lunch, al-fresco was a raspberry tart from Cafe Paul (strawberry one for Mike) with coffee.  We also went to a large, long park where some lads of about 16 were having a water fight in the fountain and having a lot of fun, as I watched, smiling one of them pretended to run after me with some water and it made me feel old!
We found a C&A and Mike has had some new shorts and socks and I found some green nail polish in Yves Rocher which I will have to share with granddaughters.  We have extended our stay here as it is such a nice little place and will move on on Sunday instead of Saturday.  It is a longer rest but we will now have further to drive to our next site so swings and roundabouts really!  We had a swim on our return and continue to require copious quantities of French lager to combat the effect of the fierce sun.  More tomorrow.
