Ramakrishna Mission
I am at the end of my trip to India and in my final city = Calcutta.
India is a very diverse country - more like Europe than America with different languages in many of the states, different cultures, different socio-economic conditions, different foods, etc.
But what has been constant throughout India has been the incredible Sari's that the women wear. It seems like one out of every three Sari's could be described as stunning. While at the same time, these women walking interweaving through the traffic, riding rickshaws, ridding side saddle on the back of a motorcycle, in the parks - everywhere.
I am sorry that most of the shots are from the back - but I am somewhat fearful of shooting from the front. You will also note from these pictures, that my obsession in not necessarily because they are the prettiest women - or even that they are on a women at all.
The colors, patterns, blends of colors - etc. It is all very amazing.
