Back in Kuching, some time off.

First, that shower, soooooooooo good!

Second, take all of our clothes to the laundry (as repeated hand washing can only go so far).

Third, find a new kettle lead for the new laptop power supply as it had stopped working after a week (Martyn had at least managed to strip it down using his swiss army knife and re-attach the bit that had started to rattle inside!).

Fourth, find a barbers for Martyn as he was starting to resemble an orang-utang.

Fifth, back to Meg and Duffy’s for more Roti Canai.

Now we could relax and plan the next leg. The town is extremely busy because it is the three days of the long boat regatta, 9 till 5 very lively down by the river and apparent chaos. We dipped in and out of the melee - 5000 competitors in 320 races!

So tomorrow we get up early to take an express ferry to Sibu. From there we plan to make our way further up the Batang Regang river - the crux will be if there is enough water in the river for the passage – typically it should rain here every 2 to 3 days at this time of year but it’s only rained once in three weeks, so it’s much drier than normal.
