After a lazy start to the day and another tour of the estate in the golf cart, followed by eggs/toast for brekkers, we headed off. We thanked Huck and Kathy for the wonderful hospitality with plans to meet up with them again in Florida in early October when we have a condominium-week planned. They are going to come over to UK next June and camp out with us in our little hovel in Wokingham - they've been warned!!

We wandered around Natchitoches before setting off for Mississipi east along one straight road (Hwy 84) to turn north along another (Hwy 167) before re-turning east along I-20....and it really is as simple and boring as that. Louisiana is very green and there were large trees along all the highways. Nearing Vicksburg we drove through one of those storms where you have to slow to 40 mph 'cos it's raining so hard.

We checked in at the same BW that we'd stopped in on our way up where after a swim in the indoor pool watching the rain outside before leaving for an early evening meal at La Sombrero. The meals are excellent and they do the BEST margaritas (especially if you ask for extra tequila which seems to cost zippo more). The whole meal came to 15 for both of us - we're glad to be out of the tourist places of the West.

MJ spent FOREVER doing this damm blog...his fans demand it you see....whilst Munchie watched the excellent Bill Mayer followed by Jay Leno and then an X-Men film. Bliss. Well, apart from the X-Men bit that is.

You can't none of you believe Hucks place - not only is it an excellent location with a large, beautiful house...but the rooms have been so well decorated. Don't know when but we are both looking forward to returning someday.
