Surely the level should have been at "Critical" two days BEFORE the attempted London bombing - not two days after. And what's all this about looking for suspicious people or packages? "Oh ...look at that Jeep crashing into the airport building....that looks suspicious."
I guess they'll now make it a pain in the ass to drop people off at the airports now...albeit there must be 1000's of other targets that have just as many people in them and are just as vulnerable to suicide bombers. All to make it look like the Government is "doing something".
Anyway - we had another great day in Modesto in scorching weather, wandered around the town and then headed out to a book shop to find Munchie a new book. Afternoon we spent 30 minutes around the pool - that was enough so we're now hiding out in our air-conditioned room watching endless pictures of the burning SUV at Glasgow airport.
The weather is kinda worrying as it is circa 90F today but heading for 104F on Thursday....
We've been looking at the schedule over the summer which we've pre-booked as hotels get full during that period....we've decided to do a return trip to Vegas as 8 days around St George just seems too much.
Late afternoon we got cabin-fever and headed out for a walk around town, hearing what sounded like an open air concert we followed the sound and ended up at......a GAY PRIDE event. We sat and watched for a while - the piece we saw was a dance act and then a DJ. There was one hunk who could really dance....and quite a few "cuties". Anyway at least Diana will be pleased to know I've been to a GAY PRIDE event. There were lots of stalls around the amphitheatre, mostly food but also gay stuff and bead-type things. It was friendly but not much more than Wokingham Canival - in fact much smaller really.
Then walking back to the hotel we came across a wedding in the grounds of the mansion we visited yesterday - which we watched for a while and saw the bride throw her bouquet over her shoulder. It was a little like the beginning of "Sons & Lovers" (I know this 'cos I've read the first 20 pages over and over....never got any further tho').
