MJ still with bad back - so we sat in the sun and hot-tubbed in the morning. Weather mid 70s and blue skies.
About noon we set off for the Washington Park and the Zoo - albeit we didn't think we'd go to the Zoo 'cos of back.
We took the MAX (light railway) and changed at Pioneer Square. When we got there it was packed with kids (we're kinda used to that now). Then we found out why....it was $2 Tuesday. Every 2nd Tuesday in the month it's $2 to get into the Zoo - deal or wot?
We queued up and then found out we got $1 off for having traveled on the MAX - so we got in for $3 for both of us!!
It was a good zoo - not as large as Omaha - but pretty good. We especially like the sea otters who swam by on their backs with their forearms across their stomachs. We got really close to the black bears and loved the Hippos and the gray wolves. MJ's back held out and we saw just about everything. We came across the predatory bird show by chance and quite literally had golden eagle/bald eagle/vulture swooping 6 inches above our heads as they swept towards the stage. Unbelievable.
Took the MAX back to Pioneer Square and had a really good Starbucks sat at the square in the sun.
Evening meal back at the micro-brewery with another jamabalya and more beer selection.
