Woke to gray skies and slobbed around for a while then headed over to Starbucks and on to the local store to get a few things.
We'd decided not to go down Hells Canyon (apparently the deepest canyon in the US, deeper than Grand Canyon, at its deepest - 8km) as it was a 90 min car journey and the trips start at 8am and finish at 6pm. There is one from Clarkston but it seems more of a trip down a river to the edge of the canyon, which in itself takes 6 hours, and didn't seem too interesting.
Instead we took the road out of Clarkston to Moscow (named after Moscow, Pennsylvania) climbing 2km and getting an amazing view of the two towns and the confluence of the Clearwater and the Snake Rivers.
Moscow is a college town and much like Missoula a few pleasant time - we found a higgly-piggedly bookshop and a breakfast place where we stuffed out.
We came back along the same road where they are creating another two lane highway (i.e. a dual-carriageway) between Clarkston and Moscow >> no idea why...there is virtually no traffic on it.
The scenery is quite different - green undulating hills - all farmed. After endless pine forest it was a pleasant change.
And just for the record Paris should be put back in jail and BB have lost the (PC) plot.
