Both had a great nights sleep in this large BW room. Breakfast was OK and then we set off for the nearby Lakota Sioux Centre by foot along the riverside path. It was a lovely walk - the Missouri is dammed 20 miles downstream and is more like a lake at this point. All the boats in the car-park had gone and we found out where on our walk - the nearby Marina. Seems as though there is a fishing competition this Saturday.

The Indian Centre wasn't too special and the two Indians in there seemed very disinterested in us (or anything). We walked back and had lunch in the room on beef jerky, nuts and bananas, then watched a western with Lee Marvin/Lee Bronson set in Canada.

About 4pm we went out to the Marina and watched the boats come in - they drive them right up onto the trailers which are hitched to the large pickup and then off they go - takes about 1 minute. And for those that care - you need a GMC, Ford F-150 or a Dodge.

Back at the hotel we enjoyed what can only be described as our own special spa experience. The weather has been up in the mid-80s, so placing our camping chairs outside the indoor pool we got suntans followed by pool/hot tub all to ourselves, seems like we are the only ones ever to use the pools.

A lovely relaxing day in wonderful weather overlooking the Missouri.

In the evening we went to the local restuarant where all the fishermen were going - we'd met a couple in the parking-lot, It wasn't posh or anything but the food and salad bar were excellent and the margaritas....oh the margaritas. We'd probably have been ok if we hadn't met up with Bob (who'd won the largest fish contest that day) who came and sat with us. He was smashed because everyone had been buying him drinks for winning - but very nice drunk. We had a pleasant kinda chat (as best you can with a drunk) with him and this led onto our third margarita. Think he was very taken with Chrissie. Probably our best evening so far.

Wet Sunday
I've just spent a very pleasant hour catching up on all your blog entries, whilst it's chucking it down outside. Lots of thunder, today. The big fella, having returned from a very wet 18 holes this morning, is catching up with the Spanish Grand Prix and wondering why I keep giggling. Your adventures sound great and I'm still very envious, sorry that you've been enjoying the same wet weather that we've had this past week - what a change from the balmy few weeks that we've had. Having caught up with all of your photos, I was pleased to see that Chrissie managed to get in front of the lens whilst at Gracelands but it was so dark, we still couldn't see her! Come on - lets have a nice clear one of her, I'm beginning to wonder if she's really there....... . :o)) love Linda & Richard
