We went to sleep at 2am, and we're up by 7am. It took awhile to figure out how to use the shower, but after pushing and pulling several buttons and chains we were in business. It appears that today is going to be a wet day, but we will have to find a way to walk between the rain drops. After a beautiful breakfast at the Williams', we were on our way.
All I can say is "rain, rain, go away". We just returned after a day of driving and walking around in the pouring rain. We made the best of the day, and in the end it turned out to be a really fun day. We drove through the towns of Pevensey, Eastbourne, Beachy Head, East Dean, Firle and Lewes.  We stopped for lunch at The Singing Kettle in Alfriston, which is a beautiful quaint village, which we will be visiting again tomorrow evening when we have dinner at The George Hotel. Hopefully we will have better weather.  Carolyn believes it is more important to look good, then be practical. I said why are you wearing open shoes today, and not sneakers? Her response was a cross between style and not wanting to look like an American tourist. I guess style won out as her shoes took a beating of mud and water by the time we left Alfristion.
This evening we were treated to a homemade English dinner prepared by Sheila and David. It compared to eating in a five star restaurant. Lamb shanks, potatoes, string beans and carrots. Followed by fresh fruit, whipped cream and meringue. Simply delicious!
By 9pm we were totally exhausted and decided to call it a night. Our bodies required some much needed sleep.
