So here i am... sitting in a little hotel -who's walls were constructed in medieval times.
I am sipping properly made coffee in the gorgeous little town of Beynac.
We have now been here for three stifling days, but even through the humidity and countless inclines.. Beynac is a gem.
The buildings are delightful, made from faithful limestone and solid wooden rafters, often decorated by a carelessly pretty vine of some sort.
We are opposite a river, which seems always packed with tourists in canoes by about 12pm every day.
Unlike Australia, the vegetation longs to grow here... where ever it has been allowed, it has draped it's self over bridge, stair, and even whole houses.
One thing that has disappointed me about France though, is the lack of wildlife.
But i guess that is made up for through the mountains of historical evidence, simply everywhere you turn.

Miss you all.

keeping the home fire burning
Hi Lindsey,

Looks like you're the family journalist. I'm enjoying the commentary and pics, so keep it up. Who is the photographer? Some good photo's; although the castle at Beynac needs Photoshopping to straighten it up a bit. Still I guess if I'd been standing there that long I'd have developed a bit of a lean by now too. If the French need a good straight Aussie with a spirit level... we've a history of going over there to straighten things out.

Hooker.

Finished but recovering ...
Who is the dork with Dane in the Riding Photo - he looks like a real putz !
You should know to avoid people like this as they are probably mentally 'unbalanced' and liable to do strange things like going for a ride and forgetting to stop for 4 days !
