As I set my Auto-office finally to away- the reality of the next 5-6 months finally sets in. We've got a little in the way of packing to do today and to pick up the last few items to fill our bags, but we are pretty much there. I've realised that I am going to need to better footwear after reading the weather reports for much of asia as the area heads into monsoon season. The weather the other day in Shanghai (first stop) was described on five live as 'Apocolyptic' around the swimming venue. Lets hope thats a very localised weather system that only hovers over large world broadcast events, and the remainder of the city is largely unaffected. I can't help but think that won't be the case.
Had a wonderful last couple of weeks in the country, and have ticked off most people to say our goodbyes to. A couple of great nights out in Windsor and Hitchin one after the other has left me hanging somewhat since the weekend but it was worth it all the same.
As I slept slightly uncomfortably through a warm night in Hemel (mainly down to nerves and not down to the heat I would hope) I pondered (good word) over the reason we are doing this and what we want to get out of it. Is it to open our minds?, To be at one or to become more knowledgeable? or is it because we wanted a long holiday? I am still undecided - I just hope we take a lot from it.

Upsy-getsy - things to do.
