What I did
We started relatively early this morning, grabbed breakfast and then headed off to the Gibbon Experience office where we got a safety video (the first we had ever seen on this trip haha). Then 16 of us grabbed buses for a two hour ride to the entrance of the Gibbon Experience park. We were split into two groups when we got there. One which was going on a long hike that day and one which was not. We choose the group that was going on a long hike, as did 7 others, and so we all set off.
Our group is all really friendly and everyone seems to be very well travelled. One guy, we learned later, has travelled to 50 countries in a year! The hike was about two hours long uphill to a waterfall. Here we all stopped and went swimming. They had a small zip line over the pool we all tried. We headed back on the trail again and tried a couple zip lines which led us to our tree house. All of the lines had amazing views of the forest, the longest being 320 m. We then all hung out in our tree house, had dinner, played cards, and exchanged travel stories. One guy on our trip had been drugged twice in three days in Thailand where he had to be hospitalized. Apparently the bartender had drugged his drink and then robbed him afterwards. Super glad we only order sealed beer.
We then fell asleep to the noises of the jungle. It was a lot quieter then we thought. We still ended up using ear plugs however, because we had a snorer in our group.
