Heilig Abend - obwohl es sich nicht so anfuehlt, wenn man heiss und verschwitzt aufwacht. Trotzdem waren wir sehr aufgeregt und freuten uns auf unsere 3 Tages Tour der Tempel und Palaeste von Angkor. Wir beschlossen ein Tuk Tuk fuer die Tour zu nehmen was sich als eine super Entscheidung herausstellte. Unser Fahrer Mr. Phroutt war ein spitzen Fuehrer in den Tempeln und stellte sich auch als sehr netter Typ heraus, der uns das Leben einfacher Kambodschaner naeher brachte.
Es war super im Tuk Tuk, man sieht nicht nur die Tempeln aber auch die Landschaft und die Leute von Angkor. Es war ein langer anstrengender Tag aber wir sahen trotzdem nur einen Bruchteil der Anlagen. Wir geben eine Auflistung der Tempeln die wir besichtigten im letzten Log fuer Angkor.
Am Abend gingen wir dann auf ein Weihnachtsfest von ein paar Norwegern die dort gestrandet war. Es entpuppte sich als riesen Party mit vielen Kindern aus einem der vielen Waisenhaueser die alle Geschenke bekamen und Weihnachtslieder sangen. Ein eigentlich schoener Abend, obwohl wir natuerlich unsere Familien vermissten.

Christmas Eve - Allthough it really didnt feel like it. Even so we were extremely excited to start our 3 day adventure of the Temples and Palaces of Angkor. They were as we expected the most amazing site we have experienced. We decided to go by TUK TUK - which turned out to be a very good decision. Our driver Mr. Phroutt was a really cool and nice Cambodian guy who gave us a great 3 day tour of Angkor and a good insight of the life of Cambodians.
It was great in the TUK TUK as you were able to get a really great view of the scenery and landscape around Angkor. Also just to see the various people doing there day to day business. It was a long day, yet we only looked at a handfull of the many many temples of Angkor. We will give a summary of the temples we have seen on our last log for Angkor.
That evening we heard there was a Xmas party at a Norweigen run hostel near by so we got a lift with our hotel owner and headed there. At first we thought it was only for Norweigens but it was ok and we were saved by a lovely couple from Washington DC. It was such a nice evening sitting outside with music and beer and talking. Also there was a group of children from a orphanage near by that came and sang Xmas carols to us. They were little angels singing with huge smiles on their face all wearing santa hats. Then of course Santa came and all the children and us got presents. It was such a nice evening and made us think a lot about Xmas at home with our families and friends and really how lucky we are to have them. Of course after a couple of beers we were singing the carols too!!
