Where I stayed
Banos is a beautiful small town known for itīs rolling hillsides, waterfall alley and most of all itīs relaxation and massages (to which we made the most of during our stay).
We were lucky enough to stay in the most comfortable "hostel" which was really one of the most beautiful family homes we have stayed in, built and owned by a lovely Austrailian couple. Here we chilled out in hammocks, chose from a collection of 1000 DVDs and even had a masseuse visit the house for a chocolate-coffee massage.
After a day visiting waterfall alley and making friends with the local boys on a stag weekend, we took a trip to a nearby town of Puno to visit a monkey sanctury of wild monkeys who have been brought there to be rescued.
After our few relaxing days in Banos we continued down the country towards the boarder of Ecuador and Peru. To break up the journey we stopped at a beautiful small village called Vilcabamba. Here we stayed in a beautiful hostel called Izhcaycuma, her we found small appartments all with hammocks and a fantastic view, again we stayed longer that planned as the place was soooo relaxing.. Now across the boarder to Peru!!!!
