We started out early this morning and drove South on Hwy 101 to Cannon Beach.  Although it was overcast, cool and breezy in Seaside, it was raining in Cannon Beach - and my husband was in shorts and flip flops!

We were lucky to be on the beach at low tide.  We saw sea anemone's and sea stars (I am defiant and still call them starfish).  There were signs saying all dogs must be leashed due to fragile tide pools.  Volunteers were on the beach teaching about and monitoring the safety of the tide pools and basically watching everyone's activity.  Roxie went nuts out there - running and hopping around, smelling the sand, sea and blowing winds. The photos aren't great because of the weather but you get the idea, right?

We went back to the car and wiped all the sand off of us and headed into the town of Cannon Beach.  Very cute area, nice homes and cute shops.  Roxie had a great time walking around - she may have been the only one because it was still raining a bit.

After Cannon Beach we headed back to Seaside to check out the town.  We had a yummy lunch at Doogers Restaurant (probably the best grilled fish tacos I've ever had).  The sun came out during lunch, and we had just dried out, so we headed out to walk around.  We got a whopping block and were met with gale force winds. OK, so we decided to pick up the pace and see the town at double speed then jumped into the warm car and headed home.  It was super windy all afternoon - blowing the coach around at times.  Tonight we are headed out to see if there will be a sunset but it's cloudy again so the chances are not great.  Oh well, it's worth a try :)

P.S.  We had the coach detailed in Portland and it was beautiful ... until it rained :(

P.S.S.  Lance says thank you to the Stocking Stalker!
