Rotorua is also known as "Rotten-rua" cos of all the geothermal activity theres a smell of sulfur around the place and it stinks!!
Its a really unique place because of the smell and all the geothermal parks that are scattered around the place which have geysers and boiling mud pools in them that you can go and look at.
As well as see all the geothermal stuff we went to a Mauri meal/concert which was brilliant, got to see some of the Mauri culture and traditions of how they used to live and also watched a concert of Mauri music that was realy good - everyone seems to be able to sing over here! Had a traditionaly cooked (in underground ovens) Mauri meal which was delicious and needed after all the rubbish food that i've been eating lately.
