Ant, Lydia and I went to the Blue Mountains for the weekend, we managed to miss the train we were supposed to get on the saturday morning (not too suprising after our walk home last night!) but got the next one an hour later. Had to get the train to Sydney then to Katoomba, both trips about 2 hours each so we ended up in Katoomba at about 4 in the afternoon and it was freezing! Cold and damp, not used to that anymore! Checked into our hostel which was really nice, we were in a 7 person dorm which was a nice room and the common room was good as well. Went for a look round Katoomba and had some tea at a pub, seems a bit of a weird town - kind off old fashioned but touristy at the same time with lots of random old strange people!
Got up early on Sunday and the weather had completely changed, the sun was back and it was 25 degrees - thats more like it! we went into the Blue Mountains proper on a tour bus and got off to walk around them. We ended up walking about 7 miles round them and saw loads of great views, we also went on the worlds steepest railway and a skyway (cable car thing) over one of the valleys.
It was a great weekend - can't believe its been over two weeks already and i've finished CVA at Newcastle! Now off to Sydney on my own.
