Good morning San Diego! Sleep was good but we were right behind a train line and right in front of roadworks, not the most conducive to sleep. We made it through thanks to some ear plugs. San Diego zoo was the mission for today, world famous because of its huge range of animals and the massive size of the park. We were all super excited with each of us wanting to see different animals. I was quite taken by the Hippo, Holly by the Orangutan and Adam by the Zebras. 

The park itself was massive with gigantic enclosures and travelators for people to get around the park quicker. The park was filled with every animal you could think of and beautiful gardens that went as far as the eye could see. We ended up walking around the giant park at least 4 times before our feet started to drop off. After a giant ice cream and a gander at the giant hippo we looked at our map and decided we had seen it all and it was time to move on.

Holly had been mentioning how she wanted to see the beach in San Diego and I thought it would be lovely to see the sun set over the ocean. We plugged 'beach' into the gps and off we went. We were taken to a wide spread beach in Coronado filled with people lighting fires for them to sit around, apparently this sort of thing is legal in the states and with the temperature being super cold it made sense. 

We took a few photos of the sun with each other and we asked a random group of girls to take our photo. We had a little chat to the girls and we soon found out they were super cool. Their names were Jess, Jessica and Jacqueline and after a bit of conversation they were telling us all the great hidden spots to go in San Diego while Holly was frantically writing down every word. It Samsung long before Jessica, a super friendly Texan had invited us to a Sinco De Mayo party at their house just down the road. We hesitantly accepted their invitation and thanked them for their great ideas.

It was dinner time so we thought we would use one of their recommendations to go to Fillipis Pizza Grotto in little Italy, we were quite lucky in that Little Italy was right behind our hotel. Fillipis was your classic Italian restraint, small with no reservations and a big line out the front. Once inside we rode an incredibly delicious prawn pasta, and a house special pizza. The pasta was super fresh and the buttery garlic sauce was superb. 

After feeling quite full we decided that we would head to Extraordinary desserts, one of the girls from the beaches favorite spot. This place is hard to describe and justify its awesomeness in words, there is trully nothing like it in Perth. It was a dessert bar, with cabinets filled with different kinds of desserts, every kind of slice and cake imaginable, creme brle, cupcakes and many different chocolate things. It was everything you could ask for, and you simply ordered what you want and they brought it to you covered in edible rose petals. I powered a thick slice of layered heaven in this order, chocolate cake, creme brle filling, chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, chocolate cake and covered In a crunchy pecan nut chocolate frosting and served in a plate covered in a chocolate sauce, my god did I feel fat. Holly powered a beautiful chocolate caramel slice and Adam made it through a chocolate sundae. We left feeling pleased and like we had five days in one. It was back to our hotel where we dealt with the sounds of road works again, this time I was so tired I just fell straight asleep.
