As gulls hover overhead, I watch the sun bid adieu to another Perth day, its final rays rich and golden on the Cottosloe sand. Another wave crashes vioently as a young couple run their feet through the remnants of the last. I indulge in some tartar sauce - essential with these much longed for fish and chips - as I'm asked how it feels to be home. I don't respond. I just watch...

Perth is beautiful this summer evening. Balmy; relaxed; home. The familiar grassy tiers overlooking the beach; the unique wisp of the Fremantle Doctor; the feeling that permeates through everything that can only be described as 'home'. Bogans pump up their fat bass. Blonde, prissed up chicks head towards the Cottosloe Hotel. A wayward delivery is dispatched into the Indian Ocean. And I reflect. On all of the places visited, mentioned in this blog. On all of the people that I have been lucky enough to share part of this journey with. On an experience that has become more than travel, but an addiction - a way of life. The sun dips below the horizon - as far as we can see from these shores. And beyond it - beyond the expanse of blue; beyond the distant clouds; beyond all of my hopes and expectations - lies the Rest of the World of the Devil of the Death from Hell on Ice...
