Today the chidren in the preschool were given a rest from craft and wroked from workbooks instaed. They are split into 2. The older ones get an advanced book, and the younger ones get a book which is essentially colouring in shapes. I was with the older ones, and I was given a book and told to colour in 2 pictures, which the chidren would do after they drew shapes. Now altough only aged 4 or 5, I was certain that the children knew how to colour in..  So i came to the only conclusion I could. That I was told to colour in to keep me quiet! And fair play- it did keep me quiet for 15 minutes oir so!

I have mentioned this child before, but ther is one boy called Barnuka, who was born premature, and has serious behavioural problems. Some days he is great and is playing and climbing all over you. Other days, he will not do a thing you tell him and is beating on the other children. He had a bad day today, and I have still not figured out how to handle his mood swings, so my patience wore a little thin with him today.  It is something that I wil only get used to in time i suppose and I would ask you all to pray for him!

The afternoon classes have been split in 2. Ran through what I did yesterday with them, and did my name is... Unforutnatly there was no Sri Lankan teachers within shrieking distance as i realised I did not know any of their names, so I had to essentially guess what their names were in English. I know that I only got 1 right out of about 10. The second class were older, knew alot more, and were about 10 times worse behaved! Still after switching a few seats, got down to business and they hopefully they now know how to say I am weraring shoes, shorts and a shirt!

After school, Caroline got it into her head that she wanted some goldfish to brighten the place up. So a goldfish hunting we went. There is a shop across the road that sells Car speakers and Aquariums (Just one of the random combination of shops here. Also sells dodgy dvds of all the latest movies!) But the tanks were all too big, (Caroline had the idea of keeping them in the steamer, but I knew that some day i would be half asleep and forget they were there)  and doubts were growing in my mind over whether I, who can barely look after myself, was capable of looking after fish without killing them (and yes. I am fully aware that I am in charge of children here, but they can tell you when they are sick/hungry/hurt and you can act accordingly. With fish, you will never know till they go "blup" for the last time and start floating on the surface upside down! Also there are hungry cats about.) and also what if i get too attached! They won't let me take them on the plane.. unless I do it like the Mr. Bean episode and keep it in my mouth for the 10.5 hour plane journey... Or I could keep them in a pickle jar..  I'll get back to you on that one. Anyway. Decided not to get he fish. So Caroline is most disappointed!

Oh and last night with the spider. No wimpering. I was simply considered as to how poisonous the thing was, and was stayin a clear distance away in case teh thing went for one of us!
